Pregnancy Expenses

A Surrogates needs are individual and therefore will vary expense wise.

Caffcass state that the average UK surrogate expenses are between £7,000 and £15,000 although costs may fall outside of these amounts.

Surrogates overseas follow their own guidelines and its best to investigate these in each country you look at.

A Breakdown of expenses is good practice for the Surrogate to have covering all aspects of the Pregnancy including Loss of earnings, Travel, Clothes, Food, Exercise, Childcare, Cleaner and various other costs that come with it.

Post Birth

After the birth of your Surrogate Child you will need to apply to your local Family Court for a Parental Order.

This is done by filling in a 'C51' form (printable format on the government website)

You will need to send in the Full Birth Certificate and pay the fee of £215.

The Scottish System is slightly different and fees are higher for the Parental Order.

More details are in The Parental Order section of this website.
